They made processing credit card orders… simple. ✔
- Square built the most useful, beautiful and simple cash register in the world.
- And they are giving it away for free.

The before/after image from Square’s new video says it all, without using any words. With just this image, Square communicates their message simply and universally. No words mean no translation into multiple languages necessary.
Square website? Simple. ✔
The website is clean, easy to understand and the call to action is clear.
“Start accepting credit cards today.”
Then they add an irresistible offer:
“Sign up and get a FREE Square Card Reader.”
Here are two versions of imagery Square is using on their website. The offer and verbiage is the same, one displays a smart phone, the other a tablet.

(They could’ve made the free offer a bit more prominent on their website).
Plus it appears they are testing out a third potential market… turning your mobile phone into your wallet. Could be big.

Squeeze page? Simple. ✔
Here’s their website squeeze page for their “Free Square Offer.”

On the same squeeze page you’ll find the four key benefits.
1) Free Card Reader. 2) One Simple Rate
3) Custom Inventory 4) Fast Checkout.

Oh, and you can even sign with your finger. ;)
In a word, simple.
… and simple sells.
